RADWAG Balances and Scales attaches particular importance to the quality and reliability of the measuring devices it manufactures and offers for sale. All RADWAG products are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty granted on the terms specified in the applicable General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS), which form an integral part of every export contract.
This information is for informational and organisational purposes only. Detailed and binding warranty terms, its scope, exclusions and implementation procedure are specified in the GTCS.
1. General Provisions
1.1. RADWAG Balances and Scales, hereinafter referred to as the “Seller”, provides a warranty for the measuring devices offered on the terms specified in the applicable GTCS, which form an integral part of every sales contract concluded between the Seller and the Buyer.
1.2. This information is for informational and organisational purposes and serves to present the general principles of RADWAG’s warranty policy. This document does not constitute an independent or separate warranty obligation within the meaning of the law.
1.3. Detailed, binding warranty terms and conditions, including its scope, duration, exclusions of liability and the procedure for handling warranty claims, are specified in the GTCS and in the technical and service documentation provided to the Buyer together with the device.
2. Scope of Warranty
2.1. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and non-compliance of the device with the technical documentation or the Agreement, revealed during the warranty period.
2.2. The warranty is valid only if the device is used in accordance with its intended purpose, operating instructions, technical documentation and manufacturer’s recommendations.
2.3. As part of an accepted warranty claim, the Seller shall, at its own discretion, repair or replace the defective device or its component in accordance with the rules set out in the GTCS.
2.4. The warranty does not cover liability for indirect damage, lost profits or interruptions in the Buyer’s business, in accordance with the limitations of liability provided for in the GTCS.
3. Basic Warranty Period
- 24 months for laboratory balances and industrial scales
- 12 months for checkweighers
The warranty period shall be counted from the date of delivery of the device to the Buyer, unless the Agreement or separate written arrangements between the Parties provide otherwise.
In the event of replacement of the device or its essential components under the warranty, the warranty period shall not be automatically extended, unless the GTCS or the Agreement provide otherwise.
4. Extended Warranty
4.1. The Seller provides for the possibility of extending the warranty period for selected groups of devices for a fee, in accordance with RADWAG’s service policy and the provisions of the GTCS.
4.2. The extended warranty is an additional service and may only be granted after the conditions specified by the Seller have been met, including timely notification, identification of the device and confirmation of correct operation.
4.3. To determine the availability of an extended warranty for a specific model, the scope of coverage, financial conditions and activation procedure, the Buyer is advised to contact the RADWAG Export Department.
4.4. Laboratory balances and industrial scales
- Option to extend the warranty for an additional 12 months
- Maximum total warranty period: 36 months
- Extended warranty must be purchased before expiry of the basic warranty
4.5. Checkweighers
- Option to extend the warranty for subsequent annual periods
- Maximum extended warranty period: 24 months
- Maximum total warranty period: 36 months
4.6. The extended warranty does not limit the Seller’s right to refuse a claim in cases specified in the GTCS.
5. Warranty Exclusions
- Mechanical, chemical or thermal damage
- Damage caused by overloading, flooding or improper transport
- Improper use or use contrary to operating instructions
- Interference by unauthorised third parties or service providers
- Interference with the measuring system affecting metrology
- Calibration, adjustment activities and components subject to wear and tear
A complete and binding list of warranty exclusions is specified in the GTCS.
6. Warranty Fulfilment
Warranty claims are handled in accordance with the Seller’s RMA procedure.
The Buyer is obliged to report the defect immediately after its detection and deliver the device together with the required purchase documentation.
After accepting the notification, the Seller shall provide the Buyer with information on further proceedings and an approximate complaint handling date.
7. Binding Nature
This document does not constitute an independent warranty commitment and does not modify the provisions of the GTCS.
In the event of any discrepancies between this information and the GTCS, the provisions of the GTCS and the Agreement concluded between the Seller and the Buyer shall prevail.
