Dehydrated waste water sludge that comes from food industry contains a lot of macroelements, e.g. nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium, sulfur. The sludge can be processed to serve as the alternative fuel, it can also be used for agricultural purposes provided that the requirements regarding the content of fungi, bacteria, viruses, parasitic eggs and heavy metals are met. The PMV 50 microwave moisture analyzer is an innovative device allowing to carry out fast and reliable determination of dry mass content of the sludge automatically. Use of a microwave method for determination of dry mass content provides 6 times shorter analysis when compared to the method based on the infrared radiation.
